About Us
A Celebration of Community by the Sea
The Sutton on Sea & Trusthorpe Carnival is a free, family-friendly celebration with over 50 years of history. Run entirely by volunteers, this annual summer event brings our coastal community together for a vibrant day of fun, creativity, and connection.
Each year features a themed programme of live performances, walkabout acts, music, food vendors, market stalls, fairground attractions, and a colourful carnival parade—showcasing local talent, organisations, and community spirit.
In 2025, for the first time, the carnival is supported by Arts Council England funding, enabling us to bring in professional artists, scale up our ambitions, and deliver an exciting programme of community workshops and engagement activities.
Everyone is welcome—come and join the celebration!
2026: ONCE UPON A TIME
Following the success of last year’s festivities, the committee is delighted to announce that the 2026 carnival parade theme is Once Upon a Time! Get ready to step into a world of magic, adventure, and imagination, where fairy tales come to life through enchanting costumes, whimsical floats, and spellbinding performances. Next year’s celebration promises wonder and excitement for all ages, bringing classic stories and beloved characters to the streets in a dazzling display of creativity. Stay tuned for updates, and in the meantime, relive some of our favorite carnival memories from past years!
